KCWC Girls Nightgowns...the Lazy Version

Well I am excited to say that the girls now have nightgowns for the summer.  They are something an accomplished seamstress would probably talk about behind my back but they were fast and they are done and let's face it...these girls make anything look good! ;)

Want to know how I cranked 12 nightgowns out in 3 hours?  Here's a short tutorial:

 About a month ago I was in Old Navy looking for something to fit my post pregnant body and was happy to discover that all of the clearance items were an additional 50% off.  I found a huge stack of long sleeved, striped shirts and about fell over when I saw they were marked at 97 cents!  That meant I only paid 49 cents for each shirt....I looked for the biggest sizes I could find knowing I'd be using them for something for the girls and came away with 12 shirts for $6.  

 Here's how I transformed them into nightgowns: 

 I ordered these crocheted flowers through Etsy.  You get 24 awesome little flowers for $6...I'm planning on using the rest for other projects or perhaps for hair clippies.

 I just gathered the band in the front and hand-stitched the flower and Voilà!

Favorites on Friday...Royal Wedding Tribute

I wasn't planning to watch the Royal Wedding footage today (not that I wasn't looking forward to seeing Kate's dress...I knew there would be plenty of photos). But, I am so glad we (Grandma, Mom, me and the girls) did.  It was so beautiful and in fact, inspiring.  I loved the ceremony, it was so centered on beauty and truth.  I was especially moved by the Bishop of London’s Address/Sermon. When I heard it, I immediately thought that everyone should have an opportunity to hear/read and meditate on it’s words.  I have put my favorite excerpts below.  Some of the best marital advice I've heard. Happy Easter...He Is Risen

How thankful I am for His sacrifice.  I know that he loves me and that because of His atonement, I can overcome my weaknesses and make lasting changes. I know that He lives! I hope this Easter is one of peace and remembrance for you and yours...what a gift we have all been given.
