"Give," said the little stream,
"Give, oh! give, give, oh! give."
"Give," said the little stream,
As it hurried down the hill;
"I'm small, I know, but wherever I go
The fields grow greener still."
Singing, singing all the day,
"Give away, oh! give away."
Singing, singing all the day,
"Give, oh! give away."

Do you know anyone in your life who seems to be perpetually giving, even outside of the holiday season? For me, it is my parents. Such giving people are constantly flowing with goodness and likewise are continuously enriching other's lives.
Now, I am going to practice giving with...
Today's "Give-Away!!!"
All I need you to do is leave a comment about someone in your life who reminds you of the little stream. You could win a CUSTOM PRINT-IT-YOURSELF PAPER DOLL PACKAGE!!! (And guess what, you can choose to keep it, or give it away!) Stay posted this week for the winner!
My mom is definitely the steam! She is always willing to give even if it means she goes without.
ReplyDeleteMy friend, Connie, is always giving to others. She opens her home and heart to so many in need!
ReplyDeleteMy friend, Mandy, is the quiet giver. Unless she's giving to you, you only hear of her acts of kindness through others. I think it's best when it's not for show.
ReplyDeleteMy mother is amazing. She constantly gives of her time to help me with my children, she gives of her talents, she's got mad sewing skills, and she gives of her love, my children adore her.
ReplyDeleteI hope to one day be as cool as she is!
My mother is also amazing and so is my dad. They are always giving. We have a tradition to give away some money to the homeless shelter, and I think it's a wonderful thing because that's what they need a lot of.
ReplyDeleteMy sister-in-law Jana. She sees a need and fills it in a heartbeat without being asked and without others even knowing it was her. She showed up at my door after my second miscarriage and cleaned my entire house because our realtor was coming to check it out. I will be forever grateful to her.
ReplyDeleteI have a really great friend named Hannah. She gives her smile away to everyone! Even if it has been a rough day....4 kids, including twins! And she still finds time for whoever needs it. Love this lady. Sometimes a smile, or words of encouragement is all someone needs.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is such a giver, and always has been. When I was growing up, she was her mom's caregiver for many years. She devoted so much time and energy to helping her keep a good quality of life. Now that my grandma has passed away, my mom is still ready at the drop of a hat to give whatever anyone needs. She is such a great grandmother to my kids - always thinking of the best ways to encourage them, and she talks to them as often as she can even though we live very far away with the military. I have the most wonderful mom!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Rosie. You get my vote, Hannah! xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy husband. He works so hard for our family and sometimes he has to work while the rest of have fun with family in town.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is like that. She is always giving to others and she has inspired giving in all of us, her children.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say my mom! She has 7 kids and 26 grandkids and she gives and gives to each one of us....you feel like you are an only child, or the only one with kids. She knows how to make each of us feel so important!
ReplyDeleteMy mother has always been the one who has given more to me than all others, but since her passing five years ago, I have been so appreciative of my mother-in-law's thoughtfulness and in so many ways. She is always trying to find ways to serve not only my little family, but all of her family. I'm grateful to have her in my life! :)
ReplyDeleteAn older lady at our church gives in so many ways...giving rides, caring for kids, making meals, and so much more!

I belong to several different volunteer organizations and I am constantly amazed by how much the people in my community give of themselves and support one another. It makes me proud to live among this amazing group of people and it provides a model for me to try and emulate.
ReplyDeleteMy sister, Kristina, is like the stream that keeps on giving. She's always so sensitive to what people stand in need of...whether it be a listening ear, a meal, a gift...whatever. She senses the need and fills it.
